We love walks along the canal. But for fishing, we prefer to go to smaller, quieter stretches of water, where there are fishing pontoons and picnic tables. You can spend the whole day enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. And the kids can play safely once the fishing’s done.

In vogue: No-kill

Responsible fishing also means respecting nature and fish.

No-kill fishing means returning your catch to the water immediately after fishing. It is practised by the majority of anglers. Numerous no-kill routes have been set up in the region: no-kill carp on the Garonne canal, no-kill black-bass on the Lapeyrière lake in Bessens, no-kill carp on the Julias carpodrome in Grisolles, no-kill carp and black-bass on the Bois des Alègres lake in Nohic, no-kill pike on the Pompignan lake, no-kill carp and black-bass on the 2 lakes in Saint-Sardos.
