The Memphis movement

This Italian art style of the ’80s, founded by architect and designer Ettore Sottsass, blended kitsch motifs and pop colors with geometric or asymmetrical shapes. Designers belonging to the movement sought to create objects and environments that were expressive, colorful and defied traditional conventions of good taste. Despite its relatively short life, the legacy of the Memphis movement lives on today. Its innovative ideas and unconventional approach continue to influence contemporary designers, and Memphis creations can be found in many museums and art collections around the world.

In Montech, Toulouse-based designers from theBakélite agency have revisited Memphis for the Pente d’Eau site.

Segonde's artistic path

This crazy project is the work of Verdun sculptor and graffiti artist Gabriel Arilla. In 2019, he’s looking for a wall to graffiti. The Mayor of Verdun suggested a whole corridor along a stream! The idea of bringing other artists together to create an artistic path was born.

The first edition was made up solely of 15 Verdun artists, and since then, new artists have added their little stone to the edifice. The works are intended to be ephemeral, and the path is renewed from one year to the next!

Portraits of winegrowers

In 2015, Fronton celebrated 40 years of AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) status. To mark the occasion, the winemakers decided to create a family portrait. Or rather, family portraits!
Based on a theme linked to the name of the estate, château or cuvée, and choosing an emblematic place in Toulouse, each winegrower created a portrait that was both offbeat and artistic, original and meaningful.
This vitirando features an exhibition by some of the 150 winegrowers and winemakers of the Fronton appellation – an unusual walk through the vines, featuring the winegrowers of the AOP Fronton appellation in a quirky and artistic way, in an emblematic location in Toulouse.
