I'm itchy!

“Stretch your legs”, “shake your booty”, “run like the wind” – these are just some of the expressions to be put into practice in the Grand Sud region! On foot, by bike, on horseback, high up in the trees, by the water, along the fields, in the heart of the vineyards: there are plenty of outdoor activities to choose from.

Now that we’ve set the scene, it’s time for visitors to explore! Here’s the key to the fields!

On land

On foot, bike and horseback

Hike the paths that wind through the countryside and vineyards, or stroll along the canal admiring the passing boats; hiking is always done with comfortable shoes, water and snacks to refresh along the way.

Ride along the miles of cycle paths that run alongside the canal and through the countryside. Take quiet country roads to discover picturesque villages and rural landscapes. Cycling is always done with a helmet and appropriate cycling clothing for safety!

Ride a horse at one of the riding schools and go for a ride through fields, woods and hills, following rider trails. An excellent opportunity to spend an unforgettable day exploring the surrounding countryside!

All circuits!

DON'T MISS THE NEWSVaried landscapes

Here, landscapes evolve to the rhythms of the seasons and the work of men; the many farmlands – apples, kiwis, hazelnuts, vines and cereals – and the rivers that irrigate them – the Garonne, Tarn and Canal des Deux Mers – create a mosaic of varied panoramas. During spring and summer hikes, you can watch the pollinating bees come and go, to the sound of the field cricket which, from May onwards, stride tirelessly across the countryside.

DON'T MISS THE NEWSAgre forest or Montech forest

The largest wooded area in the Tarn-et-Garonne department. A veritable green lung, where walkers can spot a wide variety of animals such as roe deer, wild boar, hares, black kites and foxes, as well as numerous plants on the signposted botanical trail. In autumn, the walk is enhanced by mushroom picking!

On the water

Saint-SardÔthe leisure park

To escape the summer heat of Tarn-et-Garonne, there’s nothing like a cool haven at the Saint-SardÔ leisure park!

Relax in the shade of the parasols, eat an ice cream, enjoy a friendly picnic and soak up the summer atmosphere: this is the program offered by Saint-SardÔ, the leisure park. The perfect place for family fun and refreshment all summer long!

DON'T MISS THE NEWSGaronne alive!

Between Blagnac and Saint Nicolas de la Grave, the river’s natural heritage is one of the richest in France, and one of the last to be preserved: over 70km, meanders, islands, islets, alluvial woodlands and oxbows follow one another, forming Espaces Naturels Sensibles. The alluvial forest on the banks of the Garonne is home to a large number of insects, including beetles, butterflies and dragonflies, all of which are highly sensitive to water quality.
